The Artist & The Pervert

A child of Nazis, the world famous Austrian composer Georg Friedrich Haas lives in a 24/7 BDSM relationship with an African American body positivity activist and kinky sexuality advisor Mollena Williams-Haas. Both had searched for the right partner for over 40 years before finally finding each other. They live married with Mollena being Georg’s slave – with mutual consent and enjoyment as it should be with BDSM.

Rarely is a relationship between two people concentrated with so many significant individual and societal pressure points and taboos as it is with Georg and Mollena. Even though in the end their relationship is solely between the two of them, through this documentary it inevitably becomes political and susceptible to the analysation of others.

Others consider them sick and uncomfortably open, others empowering and inspiring. Some think the couple maintains harmful patriarchal constitutions, where a white man is allowed to oppress a racialised woman. Some think the couple wipes the floor with such views. Is there anything more feministic than two feminists with different backgrounds in a consensual relationship, where the rules are clear, they both can be themselves, love blooms and there is no shame when it comes to the reactions of the surrounding society?

Even though us people would like to find answers and reasons for every action, maybe there doesn’t have to be a logical answer to everything. Or could love be explanation enough?
